Are you guys getting tired of me using my driveway as my catwalk and back drop for my pics yet? I am. But I can't be picky when I am at the mercy of whoever is around to take a few shots. It's been kinda hard to get pictures lately....as every blogger knows. Waa waa waa..
I have kinda surprised myself with this dress. It's black, loose and short. All things I don't usually do but you know what...I REALLY like it!
My Review:
Pattern: Newlook 6145
Fabric used: 'Arabella' polyester suiting. I am loving this fabric lately!
Instructions: Easy.
Changes I made: I shortened the front hem by about 3.5 inches and added a faux leather trim. I also added the trim to the sleeves as well.
Repeat worthy? Yes. I am tempted to make this in a bright yellow but omit the zipper and put a large keyhole design in the back.

Soooo...about the title. Husband was with me when I was reviewing the pics for this post (he didn't take these ones) and remarked that he really like my hat with the dress. Great! BUT then he said...
are you ready...?
"You need some new shoes...you always wear the same ones."
OH MY GOSH. I fell in love all over again. Weak in the knees was this girl. Yeah.. he's gonna get lucky. That man is pretty great...he bought these shoes for me in the first place and now thinks I need more..well....okaaaay.
For those of you not diggin' the hat...here's a shot of the outfit... sans hat.
I like the hat but what I love even better is your husband's idea for new shoes! What a guy!! The dress is pretty sweet too, great style.
ReplyDeleteThanks Shanni!
DeleteGreat dress! The looser shape combined with the shorter length looks really good on you. Love your husband's suggestion that you need new shoes - I wish mine would say that!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sam! I think a short dress needs to be a bit looser for me to wear.
DeleteGreat dress! I love the shape and the leather details really take it to another level. Good job.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lucy, the leather was giving me a wee bit of trouble until I realized I needed to use my walking foot. Always learning.
DeleteOh my gosh I can't believe how chic this dress looks! And yay for men who appreciate nice shoes!
ReplyDeleteI was so surprised when he mentioned new shoes! wow.

Deletei think blogger ate my comment... sorry if this repeats! but you look amazing in this dress!! and any husband that says you need new shoes is a keeper in my book!
ReplyDeleteYeah, he's a keeper! Thanks Lisa!
DeleteWow you look amazing! It's different to your usual style but still really chic. I love the addition of the faux leather trim!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kathryn! I'm digging this new dress too, the leather was what started my journey to this dress.
Delete"She's got legs, she knows how to use them." - running through my head right now. You look great in your shorty, short dress. Can't wait to see your new shoes.
ReplyDeleteHusband read this and laughed heartily!! He is a Froggie Girl fan club card carrying member. Say that three times fast! Shorty short dress leaves me feeling a bit exposed but I'm determined to wear it out somewhere!
DeleteHusband here," fell in love all over"! Definitely worth a pair of shoes....
ReplyDeleteLOL! Look who's made an appearance! Thanks Mr. ;)
DeleteI love that dress! Something new for you, but really fun too. What kind of shoes are you going to get?
ReplyDeleteThanks Gillian! I don't have a clue what shoes I would get. I will probably shop it to death until I find something. maybe boots?
Deletehahaha....yep...he's a keeper Margo! And Kitty isn't photobombing...he/she knows how perfectly coordinated he/she is...black and white...that's what I'm talkin' about.
ReplyDeleteGreat dress; awesome legs! Yellow would be super fun too!
Thanks Sue! Forgive me but I'm more of a dog person but this cat...he has attitude that I appreciate.
DeleteI love it, Margo! What a great LBD and the hat is so adorable. Well, your husband is a very sweet man :) Love the pictures as always.
ReplyDeleteP.S. You look gorgeous and can not wait for the yellow dress :)
DeleteThank you Hana! I'm never sure if a hat has too much of a "look at me" vibe but I really like them and try to wear them when I can.
DeleteThis is a great and different silhouette on you. I really like it and love the touch of leather to the hems!

ReplyDeleteThanks Sage! They are my fav shoes. They are Franco Sarto and my husband bought them. I have since bought the same ones in both navy and nude....he bought the black ones at Le Chateau and I bought the others online through Shoe Company.
